So Should Your Healthcare Congresses

Healthcare is evolving at an unprecedented pace. As the boundaries between different areas of healthcare, such as research, clinical care, medical technology, prevention, practice, pharmacy, pharmaceuticals and rehabilitation, continue to blur, progress depends more than ever on collaboration.
This is exactly where Düsseldorf stands out.
As one of Europe's leading healthcare hubs, Düsseldorf enables healthcare associations to position their congress at the heart of a connected healthcare ecosystem. Here, stakeholders from across the healthcare value chain, including research, healthcare, industry and policymaking, come together to spark new ideas, build strategic partnerships and create lasting impact far beyond the event itself.
Few destinations bring healthcare associations so close to the people, organisations and expertise shaping the future of healthcare. Düsseldorf does.
A Unique Destination for Healthcare Associations
What makes Düsseldorf unique is not a single institution, but the way the destination brings together people, organisations and expertise from across healthcare.
4,300+ healthcare companies and 100+
life sciences companies
15 hospitals, 80+ specialised clinics and 3,000+ physicians
World-class university medicine, renowned universities and internationally recognised research institutes
Excellence in oncology, cardiovascular medicine, neuroscience, diabetes, orthopaedics and pharmaceutical medicine
Numerous national medical societies and internationally recognised centres of excellence
A year-round portfolio of healthcare trade fairs, scientific congresses, association meetings and other healthcare events
Together, these strengths make Düsseldorf one of Europe's most comprehensive and interconnected healthcare destinations.
From highly specialised scientific meetings to world-leading trade fairs attracting more than 80,000 participants, every event contributes to a year-round exchange of knowledge across the global healthcare community. Over a two-year period, healthcare events hosted at the CCD Congress Center Düsseldorf and the adjacent Messe Düsseldorf alone welcome more than 355,000 healthcare professionals, creating one of Europe's largest platforms for interdisciplinary exchange and international collaboration.
International Accessibility
Düsseldorf makes it easy for international delegates to connect. Located at the heart of Europe, the city offers excellent global connectivity through Düsseldorf Airport, direct rail links, and convenient access to major European business hubs. With efficient transport connections and short travel times, Düsseldorf provides a seamless experience for associations bringing together healthcare professionals and global communities.

More Than a Congress Destination
Healthcare congresses have the power to advance science, strengthen professional communities and improve patient care.
Düsseldorf provides the environment where this can happen—bringing together one of Europe's strongest healthcare ecosystems, world-leading healthcare events, outstanding accessibility and an integrated destination partnership that supports associations every step of the way.
When healthcare connects, innovation follows. Düsseldorf is where those connections happen.
Live Close, Feel Free
Düsseldorf, the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, is a vibrant city on the Rhine River known for its blend of tradition and modernity. Renowned for art, fashion, and luxury shopping on Königsallee, it also boasts a lively cultural scene. The historic Altstadt, with its cobblestone streets and famous Altbier, is a hub for dining and nightlife.
Modern landmarks like the Gehry-designed MedienHafen and green spaces like the Rhine Promenade highlight the city’s dynamic character. As a center for business and trade fairs, Düsseldorf attracts global attention while maintaining its welcoming, artistic spirit.
Top 3 Local Tips

Fortuna-Büdchen (Beer Kiosk)
Yes, it is “only” a beer kiosk at the river but the Fortuna-Büdchen is a real cult place to go. The red-white painted building offers perhaps the best place to contemplate wonderful sunsets. This leads to a very mixed crowd of football fans and urban romantics who meet here, all of whom like the pleasant atmosphere on the sun-warmed low wall and even prefer it to many a chic terrace.

Gustaf-Gründgens-Platz
Gustaf-Gründgens-Platz is a vibrant urban square in the heart of Düsseldorf, named after the renowned German actor and director. Framed by striking modern architecture—including the iconic Schauspielhaus and the Kö-Bogen buildings—the plaza serves as a cultural and architectural landmark. With its open design and central location, it offers a dynamic space for public life, events, and city strolls, seamlesslyconnecting culture, commerce, and community.

Benrath Palace
Finished in 1771, the Benrath Palace in the south of Düsseldorf is a typical maison de plaisance (a “pleasure palace”) and combines the architecture and the landscape via visual axes and avenues. Together with the palace park the compound is a recreation area for the inhabitants of the city.
